Week of May 18

Persuasive writing in writer's workshop. Children have been focusing on including many reasons as to why something needs to change. This is a tactic or strategy that makes our opinions more convincing.
Full body self portraits.



My kindergarten students have grown and matured so much this year--it shows in their ability to create full body self portraits :)








We dissected lima beans as part of our seed/planting studies. We talked about the parts of a seed: seed coat, food storage, embryo.



After dissecting some kidney beans too, children labeled the parts of a seed on a diagram.
