Welcome to Kindergarten!
We are an enthusiastic and curious group of learners. We are writers, readers, mathematicians, and scientists learning in a kind and respectful classroom community. Please follow along our journey through kindergarten...
Week of May 26
Piggy bank subtraction game.
| Sight word work. |
| Writing and coloring about spring objects. |
| We read the classic version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears... |
| ...then completed a story map of characters, setting and main events. |
| Later in the week we read this silly Mo Willems story. |
| The children created their own pigeons and wrote funny talking and thinking bubbles. |
| They really enjoyed this activity! |
| May self portraits |
| As the end of kindergarten draws near, I take every chance to tell my students how much I appreciate them, their unique qualities, and all the learning we've accomplished together. I found this short story about how our special qualities can make the world a better place. |
| I hope I've given my students more tools to contribute to a kind, beautiful, safe world. |
| I gave the children scraps of paper from various projects and set them free to create their own unique fish. |
| They also wrote about what makes them special. |
